First aid in remote areas

Setting the scene! You are out mountain biking in the most remote part of the park, mobile phone reception is non-existent and the sunshine period is coming to an end. Suddenly, your friend loses control of his bike and crashes heavily into a tree and ends up on the ground. His shoulder hurts terribly and he has difficulty moving his right knee. It is impossible for him to continue pedalling...

What do you do now?

If you don't know what to say, this introduction to first aid in remote areas is for you!

It will allow you to quickly acquire some knowledge and techniques that can be very useful during your outdoor activities in remote areas. You will come out of this course feeling more confident and aware that the key to your safety is to be well prepared.

Get ready to have a lot of FUN, as our instructors will share their passion for the outdoors and first aid with you through a nice mix of theory and several practical workshops.

You will learn, among other things

  • Providing care in the open air when the sometimes extreme and variable weather conditions can affect your own safety and that of the victims;
  • How to properly assess the situation and care for a victim while waiting for help to arrive hours or even days later;
  • Treating an injured person with first aid equipment and supplies that are usually limited and sometimes improvised from materials you have on hand;
  • Manage an evacuation of a casualty.

There is a misconception that this type of training is only for outdoor guides, but it is for anyone who is involved in nature activities!
